UT Health East Texas, a for-profit hospital system, has finalised the purchase of five urgent care clinics from QuickVisit Urgent Care.  

Financial details regarding the deal were not revealed.  

The five new clinics acquired by UT Health East Texas, which is jointly owned by the University of Texas System and Ardent Health Services, are located in Carthage, Henderson, Jacksonville, Kilgore, and Mabank.  

Apart from this deal with QuickVisit, UT Health has also bought the entirety of UT Health East Texas Urgent Care’s operations in Canton from its partner Premier Health. 

This move is expected to expand UT Health East Texas' urgent care footprint to a total of six clinics, as the organisation continues to broaden access points.  

It is also in line with the health system’s commitment to meet the increasing demand for various immediate medical services. 

According to UT Health East Texas, the new urgent care locations are said to have 'highly skilled' healthcare professionals, providing care for non-life-threatening conditions to patients aged three months and older.  

Services mainly include treatment for minor illnesses and injuries, such as possible broken bones or simple fractures, fever, cold and flu, sprains and strains, minor cuts requiring stitches, and minor gastrointestinal issues, including vomiting and diarrhoea.  

In addition, testing for flu, strep, and Covid-19 is available across these urgent care centres.  

Patients will also have access to a fast-track option to visit a UT Health East Texas physician or an affiliated specialist, specifically for cases that require follow-up care. 

The integration of the newly acquired clinics into UT Health East Texas is expected to be complete later this spring.
