US non-profit multi-speciality academic medical centre Cleveland Clinic and Vinmec Health System have announced an expansion of the Cleveland Clinic Connected programme by welcoming Vinmec Central Park International Hospital as its newest member.  

This partnership aims to enhance patient care and share best practices in healthcare.

Vinmec Central Park International Hospital, a 178-bed facility in Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City, is owned by Vingroup.

The Cleveland Clinic and Vinmec Central Park collaboration will focus on specialities such as oncology, cardiology, and neurology.

It involves reviewing current operations, advising on best practices, and launching initiatives to maintain and enhance the quality of local patient care.

Cleveland Clinic Connected's main objective is to establish a network of quality-focused organisations that improve patient care worldwide.  

This initiative is particularly significant in the wake of the pandemic, as it aims to enhance healthcare quality and safety, as well as the patient experience through international collaboration. 

To be eligible for Cleveland Clinic Connected, member hospitals must adhere to the programme's core principles, including quality, safety, continuous enhancements, and patient experience. 

The Cleveland Clinic team assessed these aspects at Vinmec Central Park through interviews with the hospital's leadership and discussions with its medical staff and patients. 

As part of the Cleveland Clinic Connected network, Vinmec's cardiology and sarcoma centres have engaged with Cleveland Clinic experts to implement international standards and improve treatment outcomes in Vietnam.  

Regular knowledge sharing, updates on new techniques, and clinical case discussions are key components of this partnership. 

In addition, Vinmec physicians can now seek consultative guidance from Cleveland Clinic specialists to establish the most effective treatment protocols for complex medical cases.

In January 2023, Vinmec Times City, another Vingroup-owned hospital, became the first Cleveland Clinic Connected member in Vietnam and South-East Asia.
