Vori Health has partnered with health benefits platform Contigo Health for the development of a comprehensive musculoskeletal (MSK) benefit solution.

A programme tailored for self-funded employers, the offering integrates Contigo Health's orthopaedic surgical Centers of Excellence (COE) initiative with Vori's virtual non-operative MSK care model.

This single, evidence-based solution seeks to enhance outcomes and reduce costs for millions of employees suffering from back and joint pain across the country.

Called the Ontigo Health Centers of Excellence 360 Orthopedics Programme, the new proposition is designed to provide members of self-funded employer health plans with a hassle-free journey in every stage of orthopaedic care.

Vori Health co-founder and CEO Ryan Grant said: “We are excited to partner with forward-thinking companies like Contigo Health to bring this program's unparalleled access to appropriate care to companies nationwide.”

Members facing issues such as back, hip, or knee pain can access telehealth solutions, including physician-led screenings, virtual physical therapy, nutrition counselling, medical optimisation, and post-operative programmes.

These services aim to facilitate a speedy and safe return to work and daily life for individuals experiencing these challenges.

Individuals in need of surgery can avail Contigo Health's COE network, connecting them with vetted surgical partners.

Contigo Health president and CEO John Strickland said: “Pain is a massive issue for US employers, and inadequate access to appropriate, non-operative care is fuelling the problem.

“By integrating our solutions, we're able to give our clients and their health plan members the comprehensive care and convenient access they need to contain costs and improve outcomes for every step of the care journey.”

Why are healthcare companies hesitant to invest in the metaverse?

Although metaverse technologies could reinvent healthcare approaches and bring new experiences to healthcare providers and patients, adoption is still at an early stage. There are currently few use cases in the healthcare industry. The metaverse needs to overcome major challenges for healthcare, including regulation and data privacy concerns.

Healthcare industry continues to be highly vulnerable to cyberattacks

Cybersecurity is a growing market in the medical devices sector for several reasons. Medical devices often collect and contain vulnerable data, such as patient medical information. Legacy medical devices are a cause for concern because they likely were not designed with cyberattacks in mind. With the adoption of EHR systems, telemedicine measures, mobile health apps, and other connected devices, there is increased vulnerability to cyberattacks.
