Global health and community care technology company WellSky has introduced a resource management solution aimed at improving care delivery in home health and hospice markets.
The WellSky Resource Manager is designed to support patient scheduling and workforce management.
It offers a unified view of clinician capacity, patient demand and scheduling across all locations, as well as detailed insights at the clinic level.
Real-time data on staff workload, availability and location for team schedules will be able to identify opportunities swiftly for new patient admissions, leading to quicker initiation of care.
Since its implementation in July 2024, WellSky Resource Manager has significantly improved operations for early adopters such as Doctor’s Choice Home Care & Hospice.
The Texas-based agency in the US has reported a 34% rise in the average number of monthly home health patient visits and a 16% reduction in mileage per visit.
Doctor’s Choice chief information officer Alan McCray said: “Without adding additional clinicians, WellSky Resource Manager has helped us to efficiently complete more visits, better balance the visit workload across our clinicians, and optimise visit routes within the vast area that we deliver care.”
Home-based care agencies are under mounting pressure to expand operations and cater to increasing patient needs efficiently.
However, many rely on a mix of disparate tools and manual processes that hinder the ability to measure or enhance staff productivity and care delivery.
The WellSky Resource Manager serves as a centralised platform to address these challenges, streamlining the management of clinical staff.
WellSky chief clinical officer Tim Ashe said: “By expanding the availability of WellSky Resource Manager into the home health and hospice markets, we can help teams manage complex schedules, improve operational efficiencies, and reduce costs.”
The technology integrates key operational, clinical and personnel data from the WellSky electronic health record (EHR) drives.
This integration provides advanced staffing decision support, including embedded provider licence and certification tracking, which helps in assigning the right clinicians to meet specific patient needs.
The solution is not limited to home health and hospices; it is also available for WellSky’s biotherapies, rehabilitation and home infusion software solutions.
