Dubai, UAE, 26 January 2009 – GE Healthcare IT is pleased to present version 7.0 of the Clinical Information System Centricity Critical Care at this year’s Arab Health. This new release includes more than 100 additional features as well as many enhancements. It offers a new interactive interface, additional reporting and statistical functionality for total cost, performance and quality control.

The fully re-designed CarePlus™ flowsheet offers easy access to all the relevant information with fewer mouse clicks, saving time, costs and personnel resources.
“It is interactive, easy to read, fully configurable and guarantees an improved user experience,” said Nicolai Mokros, general manager at GE Healthcare IT for Clinical Information Systems. “Having held a series of user groups and medical advisory board meetings during the past year, we realised that only by listening to our customers could we manage to achieve this significant added value that is so intrinsic in version 7.0 of Centricity Critical Care.”

For improved diagnostic and patient safety, drugs can be ordered directly via CarePlus, reducing the likelihood of human errors. Advanced performance measurements allow for an easy definition of all major standard scoring systems, thereby helping to optimise the workflow and to better evaluate the workload. Departmental costs and performance are always under review with the new advanced reporting and statistic functionalities. In addition, version 7.0 allows for full integration of numerous medical devices such as HIS (Hospital Information Systems) and EMRs (Electronic Medical Records) via Infoway®, Active Directory, Single Sign On and exchange of reference data.

Besides these innovative solutions for both critical care and intensive medicine specialists, GE Healthcare IT has also developed some new features within Centricity Anaesthesia. Version 2.1 has a new user interface that comes with touch-screen optimised functionality, designed in order to speed up all standard activities. Together with configurable default values and task lists it helps to save time and increase data completeness. The quick case start functionality provides one click access to patient information and enables an easy switch between users, thus improving case handling. “These features will definitely bring many additional benefits to our users and higher safety to their patients,” explained Nicolai Mokros. “The value for IT departments lays in industry standardised components, high user and patient data security, easy to use configuration tools, advanced maintenance capabilities and much more,” he said. Like all applications within the Centricity family, the solution provides an easy interface with medical devices for automated data collection and seamless integration with HIS and EMR systems.
